Three seasoned professionals with a collective experience of over 30 years in the cotton-to-clothing industry in Southeast Asia came together with a shared vision. Having seen the challenges and potential of the fashion industry in the region, they sought to create a revolutionary platform that would redefine how fashion is created, produced, and consumed.

Chapter 1: The Founders
Arif Rahman, a textile engineer turned entrepreneur, spent decades building relationships with manufacturers and mastering the intricacies of the supply chain.
Siti Zahara, a celebrated fashion consultant, worked with global brands and championed modest and sustainable fashion.
Lee Wei Ming, a tech-savvy strategist, specialized in digital transformation within the fashion sector.
Their shared goal was clear: to uplift Malaysian fashion while addressing industry gaps such as fragmented supply chains, lack of visibility for local designers, and the growing demand for sustainable practices.

Chapter 2: The Vision of The Asian Maker
In 2023, the trio founded The Asian Maker, a one-stop solution platform catering to haute couture, ready-to-wear, modest fashion, and sustainable fashion. The platform was designed to bridge the gap between over 400 manufacturers and 480+ Malaysian fashion, footwear, and accessory designers.

The company’s mission expanded beyond just connecting stakeholders. It aimed to:

Promote Malaysian designers on global platforms, amplifying their reach and recognition.
Build homegrown talent by offering vocational training in fashion design, production, and technology.
Provide business opportunities for designers and manufacturers, ensuring long-term growth and collaboration.
Champion sustainability, offering a resource hub for eco-friendly materials, processes, and certifications.
Engage in giving back, organizing community-driven initiatives to support education and underprivileged artisans.
